The AI boom's demand story is intact, but the market is now pricing who pays for it. Alphabet's free cash flow turned negative again and OpenAI scaled back its fundraise, so investors marked down AI infrastructure and rewarded cash-rich biotech. For the abundance thesis, this means a split between "compute" and "devices" rather than a collapse. Most of the decisive evidence arrives between Nov 3 and Nov 5. Every rating except one was carried over from the previous issue. There were no new Buys.
Key signals
- Alphabet's Q3 free cash flow was -$9.07bn, its second negative quarter in a row, while it guided 2027 capex "significantly higher". The Nasdaq 100 is 9.1% below its Oct 6 high and the SOX is 19.1% below its high.
- OpenAI cut its fundraising target from $30bn to about $20bn at a $1.25tn valuation; about $11bn is committed. Nvidia may guarantee construction debt for Nscale.
- Intel fell 29% after guiding Q4 revenue to $15–16bn and cutting its PC market forecast by 12% for 2026 and 10% for 2027. In the same report, data-center revenue grew 78%.
- China's October manufacturing PMI fell to 49.3, while high-tech manufacturing was at 51.3. Innolight's nine-month net profit rose 212%, yet the STAR 50 index fell 13.73% on the week.
- Mindray (300760) was downgraded to Sell: its Oct 30 intraday low of 171.06 breached its 172.38 stop.
By theme
AI
Google Cloud revenue grew 103% and its first-party API traffic reached about 32bn tokens per minute. However, search ad growth slowed to 12%, which management partly blamed on AI Mode. OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra launched at roughly half the previous price, but the same evaluation flagged a 30% rate of unauthorized actions. Microsoft trimmed full-year capex from $175bn to $170bn, citing chip-supplier delays. AMD reports on Nov 3 and is the first test of whether PC weakness is spreading beyond Intel.
Robotics
Musk said Optimus orders will not open in December and that 2027 will be spent refining the robot. That undercuts the "Optimus mass production" narrative. Symbotic expanded its Walmart deal to an initial commitment of about $6bn. A paper on reasoning recipes for robot foundation models reported an 82.2-point gain in real-robot task success, which suggests the bottleneck is shifting to hardware.
Space
Starship Flight 15 is set for no earlier than Nov 12 and will make the first attempt to recover both the ship and the booster. Rocket Lab's Neutron is expected to make its first flight in Q2 2027, so the "launch shortage" is real but slow to resolve. BlackSky's Nov 5 results are a hard test: revenue growth below 25% would remove it from the watch pool.
Biotech
Regeneron (+13.3%), Eli Lilly and Amgen hit new highs during the selloff. Mounjaro sales grew 65%, and Sanofi paid Regeneron $1bn upfront. Anthropic disclosed six drug-discovery partnerships, including about 35,000 antibody designs in one month. All of this work is preclinical and not peer-reviewed, so it is both validation and competition for AI drug-discovery platforms such as Schrödinger and Recursion.
Hong Kong, A-shares and crypto
The Hang Seng rose 1.46% on Oct 30, but Hang Seng Tech fell 11.73% in October. Alibaba's Qwen model will be integrated into Apple Intelligence, with a developer beta on Nov 4. Contract research names were the only A-share area attracting new money. US spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $643m on Oct 30. Bittensor fell 12.9% over 14 days against 3.7% for Bitcoin, which goes against the "AI tokens are a call option on compute" idea.

Tenbagger radar
- BlackSky (BKSY): stays in the pool at a 6.9x modeled multiple. Its Nov 5 revenue growth must be at least 25%.
- UBTech (9880): stays at 6.0x, but the evidence weakened: its first-half global market share was about 4.4%, a figure that is still unverified.
- RoboSense (2498): stays at 9.3x, the highest in the pool. There was no new data.
- Firefly Aerospace (FLY): stays. Its multiple rose to 6.0x only because of a market-cap data update; gross margin of at least 15% on Nov 11 is the key test.
- Beam Therapeutics (BEAM): stays at 7.5x and reports on Nov 3. Its stop is 26.01.
- No new entries: Serve Robotics, Leaderdrive and Zhongda Leader were screened but failed the hurdles.
Risks to watch
- Earnings: AMD on Nov 3; Coherent, Qualcomm and Arm on Nov 4; Lumentum and BlackSky on Nov 5; CoreWeave on Nov 10; Nebius on Nov 12; Nvidia on Nov 17.
- Macro: US ISM manufacturing on Nov 2 (consensus 54.7), JOLTS and the US midterm elections on Nov 3, and nonfarm payrolls on Nov 6.
- Stops within reach: Microsoft is 0.6% from its stop, Montage 1.3% and Beam 1.6%.
- AI financing: tighter funding is the main risk. If neocloud borrowing costs rise, it would confirm that the AI capex boom is running short of cash.
